Laura Biersmith is a development and marketing specialist with more than twenty years experience in the non-profit sector. Her background is extensive in both development and marketing activities, and her career has included all aspects of development work in healthcare, human services, and conservation.

Prior to establishing Biersmith Associates, Laura was Director of Major & Planned Gifts and Vice President of Development & Communications at the Heritage Conservancy in Doylestown, PA. In that capacity, she managed staff and resources on many projects including planning and implementing the Lasting Landscape Initiative, a three-year $15 million land conservation and historic preservation project; managing the John A. Dieman Jr. Memorial Preservation Fund, a $1 million capital campaign; and establishing the organization’s planned giving program. Laura also managed the name change process for Heritage Conservancy and developed its comprehensive marketing and materials package. Laura’s experience also includes establishing the North Shore Medical Center’s Physician Relations Program in Miami, FL, ; managing the American Heart Association of Miami’s most successful Heart Ball Gala; establishing a corporate underwriting campaign for the America Lung Association in Hauppauge, NY; and coordinating the Long Island March of Dimes Annual Telethon.

Laura has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and public relations from the University of Delaware. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a member of the Bucks County Estate Planning Council.
