Carol von Stade
Senior Associate
Carol von Stade has over twenty five years of development experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in the areas of healthcare and independent schools. Carol offers special expertise in the management of development operations, major gifts and planned giving, capital campaign management, and volunteer and trustee training.
Carol recently ended her nine-year tenure at Springside School in Philadelphia where she initiated, organized and directed the school’s $25 million building campaign, the largest fundraising effort in the school’s 130 year history, and the first effort to secure seven figure gifts for the school.
Prior to Springside, Carol was the Vice President of Development at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia where she supervised a staff of eight professionals who raised over $7 million annually through the solicitation of annual, major, planned, and corporate/foundation gifts. Before coming to Philadelphia, Carol was the Vice President of Development at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. At Northwestern, Carol supervised a staff of ten professionals who raised over $30 million annually for medical research from “grateful patients” and medical school alumni.
Carol is a graduate of The Madeira School in Virginia. She has a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master’s degree in English from the University of Virginia.
